Everyone wants to talk about returns. Almost nobody wants to talk about not losing. That is backwards. The math of loss is brutal and unforgiving.

Lose half and you need to double just to get back to even. The hole is always deeper than it looks. So the first job of any serious system is to not dig it.

Defense is the whole strategy

Preserve capital first. Everything else is second. When the downside is protected, you get to stay in the game long enough for compounding to do its slow, boring, powerful work.

Position size on defined risk, not on hope. Never bet the account on a feeling. Keep the losses small enough that the winners matter.

Do not chase the win. Outlast it.

Boring is the point

A capital-preservation-first system will never be the most exciting thing in the room. It is not supposed to be. Excitement is a cost, not a feature.

Slow, defended, and still standing beats fast and gone.
