I have a simple filter for who I work with. Never do business with people who yell or who cannot be grateful. It has saved me more than any spreadsheet ever did.
Chaos is a virus. It does not stay contained to one deal or one person. It spreads into the team, the culture, and eventually the system itself.
The cost is never just the deal
A chaotic partner might bring a good opportunity. The opportunity is visible. The cost is not. The cost is the disorder they inject into everything they touch, and it compounds.
I would rather pass on a good deal with a chaotic person than take it and spend the next year cleaning up the mess it brings.
Chaos is a virus. Keep it away from the machine.
Protect the culture like an asset
The calm, grateful, disciplined people are the ones who let a system run clean. Protect that. It is worth more than any single transaction.
Guard the door. Not everyone gets to come in.
